Thin Film Amorphous-silicon

(Dec. 2003) United Solar Ovonic, LLC installs the largest photovoltaic system in Europe using triple-junction thin-film amorphous silicon solar technology. The photovoltaic array, consisting of 2,574 Uni-SolarR Ovonic panels divided into six sub-arrays of approximately 50 kW each, is mounted on a slope behind the “Copal” supermarket in Grevenmacher, Luxemburg. The system converts sunlight into electricity, which is fed into the utility grid.
