Advertising Art Content:

Ad consist of color graphic artwork with a width to height ratio of approximately 3:2. This size is usually less than 300 pixels wide by less than 250 pixels high. The total file size should be less than 125 KB.

The Ad is made up of color photographic, artwork lettering. This copy is provided by the advertiser and placed in the Website by Batteries Digest (BD).

Advertising Image:

The image of the website is businesslike, respecting the intelligence of the visitor who is seriously looking for battery, fuel cell, photovoltaic information and applications. Quality treatment of the visitor is intended to maximize the visit and promote return visits. The advertising format, both in size and shape, provides each visitor with maximum quality awareness of the business and product and/or service, thus enhancing the image of the advertiser. Easy access to the advertiser's website is made by clicking on the artwork. It is strongly suggested that the artwork include some directive, i.e, "Click here for more information," so the visitor can easily be transferred to the advertiser's website by clicking on the Ad.

As the visitor scrolls down the page, the upper Ad scrolls up and new content with another Ad appears. This Ad is also a Tier 2 Ad. Top locations are available on a first come basis.

Location Priority:

Advertising spaces are available on a priority of earliest purchase and payment. If an Ad is available on the first screen of a page, the next order/payment combination will secure it. If the first screen Ad is taken and another supplier wants to be placed on the page, the new supplier will be placed on that page in the screen below the existing Ad. In this way, only one ad is a focal point on the visitor's screen at any one time. This is to direct a single Ad to the visitor's attention and in addition provide a maximum information to educate the visitor on the advertiser's product/services. If the supplier having the placement on the first screen decides to relinquish the ad space, the supplier having the banner below that first screen will move up to the first screen. New Ad placements cannot be placed higher than existing banners.

As the viewer continues to scroll down through the information, one Ad scrolls up and another Tier 2 Ad appears. If an advertiser reqlinqushes an ad space, all other advertisers, having spaces at a lower level, will move one space.

Locations:

All Topics or pages of the web site are available for Advertising placement. Typical Batteries pages include: Alkaline, Battery Manufacturing, Lithium, Lithium-ion, and Zinc-air. For Fuel Cell enthusiasts there are Alkaline, Automotive, PEM. Metal and additional topics. Photovoltaics include such topics as amorphous, crystalline, applications. For a complete listing, see the the Home Page on this website, www.batteriesdigest.com. If you don't see a topic you want, let us know. More than likely we have not gotten around to adding it yet and we can accommodate you.

Within each Topic page the amount of content defines how many screens are available and consequently how many Ads can be placed. The top Ad is taken by the first advertiser, and the following screen banners are taken by advertisers purchasing ads at later dates. As ad space becomes available, advertisers will be given higher-level locations based on their senority.

For example, the visitor who selects 'Alkaline Primary' on the Topics Page is taken to the top screen of the Alkaline Primary page. Along with the BD Logo, and page title, a 1/4 screen size Level 2 Ad is shown. This Ad remains with the top screen, and as the visitor scrolls down the page, new Ads appear.

Site Locations are tailored to Supplier Offerings.

Ads are located at every Topic Page on the site. This allows advertisers to tailor their products or services to the interests of the viewer. For example, a VRLA Lead-acid manufacturer may want to be either on the first Lead-acid screen to catch all Lead-acid visitors, or their purpose may to be seek a more qualified visitor, and therefore, the screen that begins the VRLA material might be selected.

BD does not publish hits because the overlay of hit counts on inserts within page files and thus exaggerates the value of hit numbers. Details of visitors are not recorded so that the visitor can have a simple connection to the site, stimulating repeated visits. A significant number of visits are due to free search engines such as Google and professional fee based services such as Web Clipping.

Records of page visits are not provided to advertisers. Advertisers should ask their web site provider to provide them with the number of referrals in a monthly period from our website. This information (number of referrals) may not berepresentative of the exposure the advertiser has had to the visitor because the ad is seen each time the file is accessed.

Each visitor to BD's website has made an active effort to get to get there. Even more effort is needed by the visitor as he/she clicks on pages after the Topics Page, As the visitor clicks through the various topics, the ads, having prominent placement on the pages, are seen.

Because the majority of subscribers to BD's newsletter has been from top management of energy related businesses, we conclude that BD website information is of interest to the same type of person who visits us on the Internet. Because the information on the site is free, we encourage people from students to strategic planners to integrate this information and find information that applies to their needs.
