October , 2010                    " Volt Battery May Be Poised for Success"

To compress the time to market the Chevy Volt innovation and invention was implemented in parallel with the vehicle development. Such a combination may increase the risk of problems, but GM invested heavily in an advanced battery lab and a millions of miles on real-world vehicles. The introduction will be a combination of customer perceived value with technical reliability and safety in high volume production over a yet to be observed lifetime. As with the GM EV 1 there will be many lessons learned.
