 (March 2007)The Telecommunications Research Institute of Korea  develops a Critical Temperature Switch.  This switch is said to  prevent batteries from exploding in mobile devices.  The new switches have a Mott Metal-Insulator Transistor (MIT) which  prevents batteries from swelling and exploding.  The technology  is not yet commercialized into a known product.
