Batteries/Silver-oxide 050609
*
Sony will launch world’s first small mercuy-free Silver-oxide batteries in January 2005. Sony has developed technology to prevent zinc used in conventional Silver-oxide batteries from corroding, without using mercuy.

(July 2004) Energizer develops Multi-Drain watch batteries. The new Silver-oxide cell chemistry allows the battery to be used in both low drain (analog) and high drain (digital) watches. The new cell chemistry has resulted in a performance improvement by increasing the shelf life of the battery by 40%, from the current five years to seven years. The Multi-Drain range will be available in August 2004.
