Fuel Cells/Ultracapcitors060311
*
(March 2006) General Hydrogen (GH) orders 200,000 ultracapacitor units from Maxwell. GH, a developer of fuel cell systems, will use the ultracapacitors to enhance performance and energy management in its drop-in replacement for Lead-acid batteries. GH will implement 30 to 120 Boostcap MC2600 2,600-farad ultracapacitor cells in each of its Hydricity systems which power forklifts. Frank Trotter, GH’s president and CEO, says ultracapcitors help triple forklift runtime, eliminating the average three Lead-acid battery sets per vehicle and extensive related infrastructure.
